City of Appalachia - currently a ghost town and underwater since the Keystone Dam was completed on the Arkansas River in 1964 near Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lewis Newton Pittman bought some lots in 1903 for him and his father, E. I. Pittman, from Monarch Investment Co. Ultimately the town was only created as a haven for saloons in Oklahoma Territory to service clientele from across the river in the "dry" Indian Territory.
